Snowy Corner

The corner of State St. and N. University.

Click on the picture or go HERE for a larger view.

This one is interesting. I was processing some of my shots from the evening when I realized I had these two taken from ALMOST the same place that happened to match up pretty well. I stitched the two pictures together as best I could using Photoshop. You can notice the car in the foreground that this wasn't perfect. It not very distracting though and I very much like the perspective. Also, notice that the cars turning on the right side would technically be running a red light.

Meanwhile, More Light

"The Dennison lobby window installation, Meanwhile, More Light, was created by Professor of Art & Design Jim Cogswell."

About a month ago, interesting images began appearing on the windows of The Dennison Building. I was very interested in what was going on for a couple of reasons. Dennison is one of the ugliest buildings on campus, used primarily as utility math/science class room space, so the dash of color was a nice change. What really got me excited was the sudden appearance of a Feynman Diagram. The physics major in me could not have been happier. As it turns out, this was a project by one of the Art and Design professors, who happens to enjoy astronomy and astrophysics. A full description and explination of the work can be found HERE. After finding that site, I was embarrassed to see how similar my pictures are to the ones used in the description, but I will post mine anyways.

Flag

After Obama gave his acceptance speech, a spontaneous rally of a couple thousand Obama supporters amassed in The Diag. We paraded around town and campus from about midnight to 2am. I will be posting pictures from the night over the next couple days as i will be traveling to Nashville to visit the one who inspired the Word of the Day.
