Ubiquitous Yellow Flower

Everybody has to have at least one - a picture of yellow flowers. I apologize, this isn't even creative in terms of composition.

Blurred Night

A long exposure shot from the fire escape on the back of my house. I had to use manual focus here, but the it was so dark I couldn't actually see whether it was in focus or out. Clearly it turned out to be the latter, but the soft colors of the shot really appeal to me.

Blurred Night || Nikon D40/Nikkor 18-55@18 | 30s | f4.5 | ISO200 | Mini-tripod

**UPDATE**
I was so intrigued by the "word of the day" that I decided to read the wikipedia article on the subject. Rather interesting.

A Stack

The stacks, located in the Hatcher Graduate library. This is where many of the University's 17 million volumes are held. In color its a bit overwhelming, but black and white, it reminds me of piano keys that have been rearranged.

Street Music

This isn't the best picture I have taken, but its more for the story. This guy always sits on the corner of the Diag, playing harmonica and washboard (with a spoon no less), for a couple hours every afternoon. He never has a tray out asking for money, but instead offers wisdom from a clip board. I believe the message in this photo was "Kick dirt on me and you are only loosing ground." I have heard him play everything from jazz standards to pop tunes, but the myth has it that this guy is actually a pretty well known biochem professor! Points to anyone who can identify him.

Insomnia Cookies

The Insomnia Cookies' truck stakes out its spot in front of South Quad to capitalize on a bunch of teenagers attending camp.

For those who aren't familiar with Insomnia Cookies, they are a company popping up on many college campuses across the country. They combine mushy cookies with late night impulsive cravings, parking on busy street corners until the early hours of the morning selling cookies to kids walking home from parties. The best part is that they are only a dollar a cookie, and they will even deliver.

Sadako

Sadako, my favorite place for sushi. There is an annoying optical illusion going on here. The street isn't quite level, making it look like the building isn't either. I promise, the rows of bricks are actually horizontal. Oh well, thats part of vision.
